Inspired: Eaton Hotel

A couple years ago, some of my best friends and I visited a restaurant called American Son, which is located within Eaton Hotel in DC. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, but beyond that, it revealed to me the much more sprawling beauty of the hotel itself. I finally took myself on a little staycation at Eaton earlier this year to finally stay in the hotel and explore all that is has to offer. I’ll always have a soft spot for thoughtfully designed hospitality with beautiful details, and this locale certainly doesn’t disappoint. I often talk about how I like for my design projects to feel on trend, but not trendy. Sophisticated, but not stuffy. Traditional, but unique. The Eaton delivers those perspectives on all fronts—from reeded wood details to creative gallery walls—and does it effortlessly. The hotel speaks authentically to DC through references to local art and culture throughout the space. Gachot Studios and Parts and Labor Design teamed up to create this fully realized experience, and I’m currently on the lookout to dive head first into more of their projects!
